Watch Case Diameter The watch case diameter is the width of the watch, as if you were to place a ruler across it from the 9 o’clock to the 3 o’clock. The diameter is measured as the full width, from the bezel edge to the opposite bezel edge, but does not include the crown.
Does everyone agree with this? I ask because I seen one advertisement where they measured from 9 to outer-edge of the crown.

Without crown. Sometimes they give both measurements, I don't understand the reason for the second one.
😉 I just measure from 12 to 6.
I measure 8-2 or 10 to 4 on a round watch. Calipers baby!
Imo, for vintage watches which normally has size 33mm or 34mm or less they measure included the crown to make it feel bigger 🤣🤣🤣
There's a new Belgian dealer on Chrono24 flooding my searches with watches measured including the crown. Kind of irritating. 😠
Yes, that's correct. You will rarely find brands mentioning the full diameter span of their watches. Regarding the watch thickness, ensure you get the right information as brands selling watches with a top hat or double-domed crystal may mention the thickness without including the crystal. It can easily add anything from 1.5 - 2.5mm to the overall thickness.

I agree, calipers. I have a pair, but cheapos,, may get better ones. Measured my Seamaster last night,, now I can compare for possible purchases.
