Degaussing recommendations

I have sent a Longines for servicing a few months back and I’m pretty sure the problem I had was magnetization. I think I should get a degausser just in case as they seem pretty cheap. Anyone have one that gave them some success in the past? Preferably something I can order off Amazon or eBay but whatever works.

I got one of the blue cheap ones from amazon £12,same ones on ebay same price. And yes it works, done a few watches with it. Didn't believe it would but its made a positive difference.

That’s great! I’ll order one soon for sure. Thanks.

It's a commodity grade item and I imagine the only way to make one not work would be to kick it till the switch breaks. For nonprofessional use, the cheapest one around should do just fine for a good long time.

That’s perfect. So I can just get any of them and expect reasonable performance.

Watch a YouTube clip on how to use it. No directions with it.

Also check your lug pins. It may surprise you.

That's my understanding. It's a pretty rudimentary item and the performance doesn't really have a range to it. It works or it doesn't. Obviously more expensive ones should hold up better to repeated use and may be hum less or something, but for home use anything that isn't DOA should do the job quite well enough.

Its a standard model which is available across Amazon and eBay. Or you get it from AliExpress for slightly cheaper and you can choose between the type of plug based on your country.

They work perfectly fine, have to do it over 2-3 times to completely demagnetize the watch. Also, use it to demagnetize your spring bars and the buckles on your straps. They tend get magnetized over shipping or from other sources, always a nice practice to demagnetize them before using.
