Watches make great gifts!
Us watch enthusiasts know watches make great gifts but in my ignorance, I really didn't know just how much so...
My younger bother messaged me saying he's headed to my jeweller to get a watch box (he's impatient so won't wait for me to build him one and can't be bothered to order from Amazon and have it shipped to Jamaica.)
I told him to see if the fossil that he broke is ready (my jeweller is a family friend, he's not gonna hurry to complete my projects 🙄 and he knows it's not my only watch.)
He asked me if I've ever heard of Alfex, which I hadn't... Said my jeweller just gifted it to a teenager (son of another family friend) as a back to school present. They're all having a Convo about just a group of acquaintances geeking out about horology. Paused his day to talk to some customers and giving away a watch in the process. What a great guy!
Of course the kid accepted happily but said he didn't see why he didn't just give him one of the F91-W that's in the showcase. He doesn't see what's so exciting about an automatic chronograph. That's what started the whole conversation about watches.
After doing some research, I found out it houses the Valjoux ETA 7750, awesome movement! That's gonna last him a lifetime.

Watches are good gifts but it also depends if the person you're giving it to will wear it, I gifted one to a friend once and he has never worn it since smh
