Super jealous! I got the 007 on NATO and then ordered the bracelet from an AD… back in September. 6 months later, still no bracelet. I console myself with the idea that I’m not like one of those people waiting for their Porsche that was on the Felicity Ace - that cargo ship that caught fire and sank off the Atlantic. Can you imagine waiting 2 years for your dream car, tracking its production progress religiously, only to watch it literally all go down in flames?

When I was buying this yesterday two guys came in asking if their titanium bracelet came in. That’s when I knew I HAD to get the titanium band Seamaster over Nato. My dealer said he was meeting with Omega this weekend and would ask about why they’re back ordered. If he gets a response I’ll respond back here!

Too funny.  I've had multiple conversations with my AD about it.  Here's my set of hypotheses:

  1.  After the movie came out, there was a massive surge in demand  for the watch, with grey market prices going over MSRP.  Like me, I suspect, a lot of folks bought the watch on NATO, even though they ultimately wanted one on bracelet, just to get their hands on it immediately.  There were lots of discussions online about how, if you wanted the watch right then and there, it would ultimately be cheaper to get it on NATO and buy the bracelet afterward
  2.  Finally, for those of us with slimmer wrists, Omega then developed a short bracelet.  And both folks who had gotten bracelet (in medium and then found medium didn't fit them well) and NATO came in to order the short bracelet
  3.  This situation would be tough enough for Omega to deal with, and it's been further exacerbated by COVID disrupting manufacturing and supply chains

I think I've reconciled myself to not getting the OEM bracelet.  In these past 6 months I've found a leather strap that I really, really like on the watch, and I also purchased an aftermarket titanium Milanese bracelet off Amazon.  I'm 200% sure that it's nowhere as good as the real deal, but it'll do for now.

I wouldn’t give up hope completely on the Omega mesh. Omega’s supply chain has been backed up on a few items. (Bought a Tokyo SMP back in August, and the box for it just arrived because their box manufacturer is evidently behind schedule.) I wouldn’t be surprised to find the same for the bracelet. I heard on a podcast recently (maybe Wrist Cheese Radio?) that these are being made by a third party for Omega.

Come on, man!  Life is easier when you've given up your hopes and dreams.  Don't suck me back into it!

Not sure if it’s easier once you’ve given up hopes and dreams, but it certainly is cheaper!

Goddammit!  Okay, I just got sucked back in.

  • Ordered the short length bracelet 6 months ago
  • Call AD every month or so to get updates, and it's always just around the corner
  • Finally, got fed up 4 days ago, and told AD to cancel the order and process a refund
  • AD literally called me just now to say, "When we reached out to Omega to cancel your order,  they told us that they'd just shipped via UPS ground.  It'll be here next week.  Are you sure you want to cancel?"

It certainly is cheaper to give up hopes and dreams.  I'll be in the Omega OEM titanium mesh bracelet club next week.  I hear it's a pretty exclusive clique.

Indeed, agree the titanium band is worth it. It was a major reason for choosing the watch in the first place. Didn’t know I was also being smart. First time for me on that!
