What was your first watch..? Don’t judge me 🤣

Well here it is, the (crappy watch) that got me into this hobby… what was yours?

I think many of us fell for the designer brand didn’t we? 🤔🤫🤣 PS for some reason I’m sure the dial was blue when I got it..

First watch as a kid was Casio with indigo.

First watch as an adult I got myself was a G Shock then an easy reader from Timex

Watch that got me into the hobby was Swatch Sistem 51 from my wife

Last watch I got was a Tudor Black Bay Pro

Quite a crazy progression looking back!

Great progression! I don’t think I had a watch as a kid.. if I did I can’t remember

My first watch as a kid was a Flik Flak and as I entered middle school my parents got me a F-91W like most kids in the 90s I imagine.

The first watch I bought with my own money was a Stührling because it was discounted on top of a discount on top of a discount. It was a skeleton watch (I hate them now), too big for my wrist, definitely too thick. No idea why I bought that turd. Barely wore it for a couple years then sold it to fund my first Seiko 5, the SNK361.

I became obsessed with this Seiko which prompted my dad to share his collection of vintage pieces, and soon after my mom and brother ended up catching the bug as well because we wouldn't stop talking about watches at home.

I still have this SNK361 in my collection, although I practiced my modding skills on it so much that it's more of a Frankenwatch now with only the case remaining. But it still holds the same sentimental value to me.

That’s a great story! I need a family that likes watches where do I find one.? 🤣 my brother had an F91 too but hates watches these days…

No hate here for fashion watches! 😬 We all start off somewhere. Some of my cheaper fashion watches hold special places ❤️for me. Like my first purchase. And others that I have received as gifts from family and friends.

Wow 100% a keeper for more than one reason 🙌🏻

My first watches were mostly Timex and a cool Transformers style robot watch when I was a kid. But it was this skeletonised Armani that started my genuine passion for watches; seeing the movement and engineering absolutely fascinated me… and the seed was sown!
