Back wearing "proper" watches after a year and half wearing a smart watch.

Have always worn watches, but am also very interested in technology. So the transition over to a smart watch initially wasn't a difficult one. But after a year I started to miss the freedom of switching between watches, even with my then smaller collection.

I happened to wear a Timex Easy Reader (forgot to include it in the photo) to an event which reminded me how nice it was to wear a traditional watch again. Although I also missed the benefits of a smart watch too.

The solution, got myself a cheap fitness band which is made by the same company of my smart watch, does all the same things and more! Have that on my left wrist freeing up my right for whatever watch I feel like wearing. Can also change the straps of the fitness band as an added bonus.

Ended up adding two more Seiko's (currently wearing the SRPD71K1 with a seatbelt nylon strap - the steel mesh bracelet is great to swap back to for something smarter) plus two G-Shocks.

I've done the same, I've got a cheap (refurb) garmin band on my right wrist, and wear a watch on my left.

You could always have the best of both worlds with a dual watch strap. The only problem I see is that the watch on the inside of the wrist would be more prone to scratching.(Image failed to load!)

That is an "interesting" idea! If you're determined to have an apple watch, then this might be feasible. Maybe have the traditional watch on the inside, and preferably one with sapphire glass.

Maybe check out Kronaby if you miss some of the smart watch tracking features, but want a “proper“ watch.

These are cool if you just want one watch. For me, getting the smart band was freeing as it meant I could rotate between watches again.

Yeah, definitely a commitment for the tracking to make sense. I bought Garmins for myself and my wife but I just could not stick with it. So now my son has mine and is loving it. 😄 My wife is really enjoying hers too and I am back to ”proper“ watches and loving that, so it worked out well enough.
