Vacation Watch

Decided to take this baby to Turks And Caicos

Do you guys have trouble taking your really really expensive watches on vacations?

I also like taking less expensive watches on vacation, nice choice!

It depends on the destination, just as it would when I'm not on vacation.

No… but I don’t have any expensive watches 😂

·

Doesn't bother me - I wear what I want and appropriate for location , but usually only take one watch so I don't have to keep up with multiple valuables.

As @Salty1 said I only ever take one because I travel light and only want to have to keep up with one. I have since 2015 been taking my Rangeman 9400. It has everything I could possibly need in any scenario. It now has a lot of miles on it. Winds up being my most worn watch every year because I wear it for so many days.

I leave my best (expensive/valuable/important/personal) watches at home when I am on vacation

Depends where, larger cities or international I rarely will take a Rolex. It is about the only watch that seems like you are just asking for it.

I don’t really have a problem taking nice watches on vacation, watches are to be worn, so in the water, up the mountain, through the museum, or to dinner they go!

It makes sense to be careful. I wear my GS on business trips to Qatar because it is super super safe there.

Holiday in Cambodia last year, I took my Orient Kano for sports, sightseeing and swimming, and my Laco Augsburg for post-shower/ evenings.

If you have a mixed collection, as a lot of us do, you may well find yourself giving the more expensive watches more wrist time (not everyone of course, but it kind of makes sense given how much you've spent on them).

In which case going on holiday can be a good opportunity to enjoy the less pricey watches, because if they get damaged or stolen (hope not) then it's not the end of the world: they can be replaced affordably. And you get to spend quality time with them. I know for sure now that the Orient was a mistake for me - lovely as it looks, it's too big and I can't stand how many spd it gains - and the Laco is a winner.

That’s my fear to loose or get robbed and all the work I put in goes to waste. Trust me I wish I can take some of my babies out for a spin on vacation. I’m just to scared
