Scenes from my first watch “repair”

I got this Citizen Quartz on eBay last year and it came with the silver dial in picture 2. However, when it arrived the date window frame had fallen off during shipping. Without any research I tried to reattach it to the dial with super glue. At some point I also bent the seconds hand.

I then found a similar example with a nice greenish blue dial a few weeks ago. My plan was to just swap the bracelet over, since the new one didn’t fit me. Well, for some reason the new one wouldn’t work with a new battery. There was no corrosion on the dial, movement, or where the battery was, nothing seemed stuck, the hands moved freely by winding the crown. So I ordered some basic watch tools and planned to swap the dials.

20 minutes and 2 bent seconds hands later, I got it done. Anyway, I just wanted to share this and thank you for reading this far.

If anyone has tips for putting the seconds hand back on I’d appreciate it!

Just make sure it's lined up when you press down on the hand setting tool. That's all I know.
