Where do you "research" your watches?

I know there's the first two pages of Google. The watch trade press. YouTube. WatchUSeek. ABlogToWatch, and of course, WatchCrunch.

But does anyone use anything else? Are there any sources I'm missing?

I'm really keen to dig deeper into the watch archives/catalogues of different brands. To try and find unique and different references on my own (not what is just put in front of me). But I just can't seem to find any reliable sources that get me further/deeper than the 90s.

Chrono24, watcharts, and eBay are good places to look

I spend time on Forums (WatchCrunch), YouTube, Google, and Chrono24.

Most importantly, if it’s over a grand, I spend time at an AD.

Watchuseek, timezone, Rolex forums (not just Rolex), omega forums

There is nothing like viewing and handling a watch in person so I attend as many AD's, trade shows and enthusiast gatherings as time permits. Fortunately there are many in my area however I do get that this may not be an option for others.

After multiple disappointments I'm kind of done buying watches I don't have first hand experience with and as an example I would've never gotten a Bulgari if I hadn't handled one in person and seen it on my wrist.

Happy Hunting!

Not sure it’s what you call research, but I read Worn & Wound, Hodinkee (a bit), and the blogs on TeddyBaldassarre.com to learn about watch makers and models. Lots of good background but perhaps not the targeted depth you are after. Happy Hunting, indeed!

Some other member has already mentioned it but I do get a lot of info from one of my regular ads whose family owns two different boutiques carry most brands except for Rolex. The young guy is honest and affable, of course he is in the business to sell his brands but he hears a lot of feedback from some very serious enthusiasts and collectors. Obviously you are going to learn about new launches on videos from YouTube but I don’t rush out to purchase a watch just released. Breitling might be an exception since I have lots of experience with the brand and know the persons at the Toronto HO to offer credible info. There are also specialty magazines but I do not give too much credit to content producers on social media for worthy guidance.
