Let's Talk About Choisi!

Choisi/North-Star - Montres Choisi (pronounced "Swa-Zee") was founded in 1929 in Bienne, Switzerland. Choisi produced watches under its own name and white labeled or produced watch parts for a number of Swiss brands. During WWII, Choisi produced over 100,000 military timepieces for the Allied Forces and the German Wermach. Choisi like so many of the small Swiss watch brands met their match with the quartz crisis of the 1970s. The brand was recently revived in 2013 by some businessmen in Singapore, however, finding the modern Choisi heritage references are almost as difficult as finding the vintage models.

Here are some vintage and modern examples from my collection:

Choisi Dive Watch (1970s) ref. 844 Movement: Automatic ETA 2452 Case size: 41mm

North-Star (Choisi) Dive Watch (1970s) ref.  Movement: Manual FHF ST96 Case size: 35mm

A new to me brand as well.  Loving these threads about more obscure brands.  Please keep them coming - great to learn something.

That North Star Dive Watch is so represented of the Skin Divers of the time. Love it.

Very nice detective work 👍. I appreciate it. You just thought me about a new Vintage Watch brand ⌚💪. Thank you 😃!

A little side note,

In french it's pronounced "Shwa-Zee". It litteraly means "Chosen"😉.
