Thought I’d like it here, now I’m not sure

Maybe this isn’t the place to post my “homage” collection….seems they aren’t liked by most other watch collectors….hmmmm

Why do you say that?  I like homages.  I think custom mods / builds are the business.  And from what I've seen on this forum, folks proudly display theirs and comment positively on others' homages / mods / builds.  I've yet to see any negative reactions!

There will always be naysayers, post your watches and see what the reaction is, I suspect it will be predominately positive

Dude, do you mean your Pagani Design you just posted on the WRUW thread? I seem to think those get some interest behind them. Put it on you post here, it’ll get love.

·

I don't have a problem with homages. For those that do..well................that's their problem.

·

Thanks you guys! I was just reading done comments on other homages and they weren’t getting much love….I wanted to really enjoy this new sight and be able to post my watches, in the hopes that I’d have like-minded people enjoying them as well. I appreciate the supportive responses. Thanks all!

As they say about posting anything online. 10% of your content gets 90% of the views. Keep figuring out what people respond to, maybe all it takes is to change to a more interesting title. I see plenty of homage posts daily 👍

no fake, no problem dude 🍺

Every collection is a "homage" collection to a certain degree.  We just don't acknowledge a certain type of homage.  Hamilton's most popular model is a homage.  Most of what Bulova now sells is a homage to their back catalogue. Rolex, Cartier and others recycle styles and ideas.  We call it heritage or tradition rather than just copying the past.  There is an entire class of vintage watch that we call "Generic Swiss".  Homages all.  (Is there an Islander that is not a homage? They get, and deserve, love.)

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.  Flatter us all with your watches as we flatter you with ours.
