This one doesn't buzz

The original Accutrons were a marvel of electrical engineering and their fork regulator emitted a faint humm which took some time to get used to.

Mine doesn't and is dead silent.

It's an Accutron II, meaning that it use a 262kHz high accuracy quartz movement instead of the original fork. There is also no ticking sound caused by the second's hand jumping every second - because the hand doesn't jump, it glides.

The Accutrons II used the same movement as the one in the precisionist range, and therefore they have the smoothest sweeping second's hand this side of a Spring Drive.

The other good surprise is that the PVD coating is holding its own better than expected. It's true that my expectations were quite low, but it's still satisfying to see that it looks almost new and that my ceramic mug has more scratches.

Otherwise the Accutron II is just a 70's themed looking watch, with a lug-less design and a super compressor style inner rotating bezel.

Except that it's huge. I could theoretically eat a pizza from it.

Nevertheless it's still wearable on my 16.5cm wrist, and if it look a bit too large then just wait for a few more days and lets see what will be your opinion after I strap the ProTrek on my wrist.

Very cool. Thanks for sharing. Interesting variation for sure!

Absolutely very cool! 🤙🎯

Bulova has this great movement, but lately they slap them in the most gaudy cases and dials. I think your watch is the exception. Great looking compressor style with simple legible numbers and not too big case. 👌

Thank you, it's combination of high accuracy quartz, sweeping hands and relatively sober design is what convinced me to buy it.

Looks great 👍
