The sun is shining brightly, it’s time for some sunscreen cream.

Well after a few days of gloom and rain, the sun decided that it will go back on the job of providing light and warmth. The later is a bit lacking due to winter but I can’t complain about the light. It’s makes sitting outside for the coffee a much more pleasant experience than it was a day ago.

Which is why I’m wearing the Yema Wristmaster today. The cream dial with the peg like indices is simply a great thing to look at because there is plenty of 3D relief, and just moving it around change the play of light and shadow.

It also has a superior acrylic crystal which is basically reflection proof, and still let a lot of subtle light to scatter in interesting patterns. It’s really great for close up photography and I’m tempted to fetch the newer Canon RP with its 85mm lens to get some macro shots.

But it will require me to get up and walk a few steps, and I decided that in this case a few steps are at least one too many.

The Wristmaster is looking so retro-70’s that it’s hard to believe that it was actually launched only a couple of years ago. I looked at Yema’s “A time of Heroes” book to see if it’s a copy of one of their previous models but it’s not. There are hints scattered here and there that some if its design is based on watches from the late 60’s and early 70’s but it’s not a re-creation of any specific model that carried the same name.

Which mean that yes, it’s possible to do vintage while still creating a new model, which is something that I completely approve because owning an actual vintage watch can be a costly pain in the behind.

That is a beautiful Yema! Also the mtg nerd in me wants to say nice Rivals of Ixalan dice as well. :)

I agree completely with your last paragraph. Vintage inspired watches off the charm of the older styles with none of the downsides.

Beautiful 👌🏻
