My Nomos Ahoi is very orange, despite being called siren red, and even Nomos reference to the buoys bobbing in the sea are not enough to make me see it as a red watch. It's not a bad color if you want to add a splash of bright warmth at the office.
It's basically a watch that want to be fun to make you forget how much Nomos are asking for it, because the +4KUS$ official price is not a joke.
Is it worth it? Well it's obviously worth it to enough customers that it justified the price that Nomos set, but this wasn't enough to convince me to buy it new. Nomos prices takes a serious hit on the second hand market, even for pristine full set units, and so they are terrible investments but excellent targets of opportunity.
A bit of patience brought the price of my Ahoi more in line with what I thought it should be. I still paid enough to make it the most expensive orange I ever bought, thought.
It's not a watch for everyone, certainly not at its retail price, but today it's the right watch for me.
I'm a big fan of watches that are interesting because they are either unique, have interesting features, well designed or simply offer a great value for their price.
This is one of those watches that I am glad exist, even if they are not for me. I like the unusual and this is that. The radial numerals, stick hands, and lugs evoke early 1960's watches. The deep tangerine dial makes it stand out. Better to get it at the price you think is more appropriate.

It's definitively a case of an acquired taste that will not suit everyone.
I know exactly what you mean. I love the Nomos designs and would love to add a colourful variation. The new electric green Club is a stunning watch in my opinion.
But I'm also not willing to spend so much money on a fun watch for rare occasions.
I guess I found a nice compromise between a bit of a fun design with very little colour and a serious "neutral in the sense of independent from Mood, Weather etc." design in my Nomos Metro Update.
Prices on the secondary market in Germany (Home of Nomos) are unfortunately quite stable hence there isn't a lot of Nomos watches selling in slightly used condition. Especially not the desired "fun pieces".
The Signal Red doesn't read as orange to me either. I've always considered it as something right in the middle of the two colors.

Yes, it's a color that is a bit difficult to classify. Like @Aurelian I'm more inclined to call it tangerine.
