It's not me, it's you.

I'm not exactly breaking up with my Dan Henry 1962 Racing Chronograph, but I noticed that I'm not wearing it as much as I thought I would when I bought it.

At first I thought that it was due to the legibility problems of the panda dial, or the annoying 24Hr indicator. But no. In reality it's because chronographs don't attract me as much as they did in the past.

I found that my taste is turning more toward simpler watches and plain dials. Chronographs by nature are neither and so they see less wrist time.

Oh, the 24Hr indicator is still annoying as f*ck, and is still IMO as useful for chronographs as tits on a bull, but I can live with it - at least for today.

On the occassions I have been on racetracks with either cars or bikes I have rarely if ever had a need for a chronograph watch, whether that watch is analogue or digital does not matter. The official timing from the track's system is what counts.

Decades ago I had a Citizen chronograph that was replaced by a Seiko solar digital. I think I still have that Citizen somewhere.

Some digital watch chronographs make me laugh by assuming the user is able to accurately operate little watch buttons to 1/100th of a second.

Chronographs look cool and sporty but that is a complication I can do without.

Though I feel pretty much the same as you do, I still love my chronos (your D.H. is awesome BTW!). A simple 3-hander is often my choice of wrist companion though, but do spice it up with a chrono now and then!

I feel the same way the other way round.

I bought a Dan Henry 1964 Gran Turismo last year, really just as a fun watch. I wanted to see if I could handle the smaller size of chronographs, and I was also interested in the beads of rice strap.

It was this "if I wear it once in a while, it will be okay. And if not, then just not".

In fact, I wear the watch very regularly, often for weeks at a time.

The size is very wearable for my smaller wrist, the watch is also pleasantly light and the strap is very comfortable

I’m the same way. I bought one but I rarely wear it. Something about the watch just seems to get overshadowed by the others in my collection. Case in point, I don’t even have a picture of me wearing my 1962 DH Evil Panda. That being said, I was told by DH that he is making a bracelet for it, which might change up how I feel about it. I have 1 Chronograph (Bulova surfboard) at the moment and I wear it often in the summer. I do plan on owning the Lunar Pilot at some point, but for the historic aspect rather than the Chronograph option.

I am a fan of Chronographs but I am also picky about what I'll wear size wise and price wise. I have a Dan Henry 1945 that is on the edge for me in wearability sizewise but I loved the dial so much I picked it up anyway however I wasn't completely happy with it until I put it on the right strap to make wearing it comfortable. Now.. my Lady has practically stolen it and I have to bribe her with kisses and affection to get to wear it 🤣

I still wear chronographs, they are just not my favorite type of watches anymore.

I have 3 chronos; a Seiko SSB031 that I bought a couple of years ago, a lovely deep blue Seiko SSB377P1 given to me by my GF ... it's more "dressy" than sporty. And a Casio Edifice EFR-526 with a "panda" dial (I need to put a rally strap on that one!). The SSB031 is my fave of the three and it gets about one day a week wear. The others occasionally.
