A perfectly wasted Friday

Being lazy is not a big deal, but being successfully lazy is an art.

People often confuse laziness with being idle and nothing could be further from the truth. Being successful at laziness means that you have to invest quite a lot of thought and planning into optimizing your time and investing the least amount of work into the shortest time that it will take to do the job.

Today's task was finding the perfect wrist companion for doing absolutely nothing and after consulting with my cat, who is very wise and knowledgeable in such matters, the decision fell in favor of the Islander ISL-68.

The fully lumed great wave dial that is devoid of indices or a date complication is both clean, a pleasure to look at outside, very impressive when it gets dark and most important of all: fully open to vague interpretations concerning the exact time.

It's the perfect watch to wear for a nice sunny day which I plan to waste by doing absolutely nothing.

Or almost perfect because it's quite chunky and heavy so lifting my arm to read the time might take some effort and ruin the day, but somehow I know that I'll manage.

You should turn the bezel randomly so you really have no idea what time it is!
