Looks and feel great

New watch just came in. this one inspired by the recent ILW (I Like Watches) video on it. it’s the Berny compressor style watch. this was bought from the Berny official store on the interwebs (not the aliexpress store)

I really wanted this one for the inner rotating bezel. it really does it for me. the watch works and fits well. I did do a strap change because I can’t wear silicone due to a rash issue. do note that this has screw together spring bars not the regular kind.

it seems to be working okey though a bit gritty in some ways. first when changing the day it seems to come to a sudden stop, which I then have to almost force yo the next day (Note it was at 6am when changing). the movement feels a bit… idk gritty I guess. Like it sort of had bezel feeling ”clicks“ as you change the time. Also from what I can tell the hour hand is slightly miss Aligned. Also I’d like to note this doesn’t look like the myota movement despite that being advertised on the roter on the back. it seems to have the seconds hand skipping problem the seagull movement version they had did. do take that what you will. last thing would be the crown is also a bit gritty To screw in.

overall though it looks and feel great, for the price I can’t complain about some of that. But the skipping hand might drive me nutty. as long as it works though, I might be ok. I’ll also say the lume seems pretty good to my untrained eye. and the bezel works just as you would expect. even use it while on wrist which is really nice.

overall I’d say I’m mostly happy. with a few minor disappointment.

Correction. it seems that the miyota series 82 series tend to have the hand skipping issue. seems to be due to an indirect driven seconds hand. so this is my retraction to the movement statement.

Well it seems I’m going to have to learn to be ok with the seconds hand not lining up with the 60 when the minute hand hits its marker. my understanding is the indirect driven second will cause them to miss align. I also understand that the minute hand will continue to represent the correct time, it’s only the seconds hand that becomes out of alignment.

Thanks so much for posting your observations about this watch.  It is on my radar too for the same compressor style case, internal bezel and attractive price.  I think it is a sharp looking watch and may hold the place for a dive watch in my collection until a time when I have enough money to buy a special diver.

Glad I could help. I’ll definitely say after three days of wearing it, I am definitely liking this one. cheers
