My favourite grab-and-go quartz, I'm getting too old to care about what anyone thinks 😁 What's everybody else's run out the door in a hurry choice?

Strapcode shenanigans

Just took my strapcode super O off my SARB035 and put it on my SARB033.. you know the one, the one strapcode says won't fit the 033. Always suspected...

Seiko Pre-SKX 7002-700

I don't really do mods, but I picked this thing up at least ten years ago for pennies. It had been completely coated with blue cerakote, so I removed...

Similar story with the audio IEM market, Chinese companies produce some of the best gear out there and for a fraction of the made in USA equivalents. They also produce turds though, which somewhat colours their image.

Wasn't 1 particular watch, I got my first mechanical at 5 when I started school and have worn a watch every day since. They just got more expensive in the subsequent 40-50 years.

Yup, the older I get the more I find myself reaching for a quartz. Full circle really, as a little kid in the 70's we all lusted after quartz 🙂

commented on The Hardlex that I’m supposed to hate, except that I really don’t. ·

Hardlex/mineral is ok, but I've scratched loads over the decades. Sapphire is dirt cheap now, so I always just pop that in when I change crystals, if I can find a suitable one ofc. I've yet to chip or shatter sapphire, probably happen now I've said it though 😁

I've got both and I don't wear either of them, the SSK is prettier though I think.

I've had a few field types over the years, this Citizen Ray Mears is about the only one I return to though. If it was good enough for him, it's good enough for me 😁

Your Datejust is more of a diver than the SSK, as it actually has a screw down crown 😁 But i know what you mean, I'm still very fond of my SSK too. The bracelet is much better than the jangly nonsense on the old SKX models the case comes from, and the bezel insert is infinitely better too. Good value overall.

Possibly the best value quality Seiko diver, particularly on the used market. 6r15D inside, so I find it more stable than my 6r35's. I'd rather it did...
