Sell seamaster and get Sinn U50?

So, I've been slowly falling out of love with my SMP over the last year. I'm finally at the point where I think I'm ready to let it go. I've never sold a watch from my collection before! I've always loved the Sinn U50 and I think it's time to go in the complete opposite direction of the SMP, and get a true tool diver. Does anybody have the Sinn U50? Would love to hear your thoughts/experiences.

Do you have a list of things that made you fall out of love with it ? Just curious, all the best with whatever decision you make 💪

I do. It's a little too thick for me. I've also bought a bunch of straps for it and it's just not that comfortable on my wrist. It's a beauty though! I just find myself not taking it out of the watch box nearly as much as I use to.

If you want a true tool watch get the Sinn. The SMP was too shiny , not purpose driven and thats why i sold it. . I have a U1 , wear it on a rubber strap and love it. The U50 wore a bit small for me. So i kept the U1

I love my U50. But I also love my SMP. Would hate to have to choose between them. They both have very good strong points and a few weaknesses. But if you aren’t wearing the SMP I’d say go for the change. Get a rubber strap and the bracelet. And definitely go for the tegimented if you want the ultimate ruggedness. Can’t go wrong with a U50

I never liked the SMP with its finger's unfriendly bezel and the steam whistle sticking from the left. I see it as a shining example to demonstrate how far Omega fell and strayed from what made them great in the first place.

The U50 on the other hand is exactly what made Sinn great, A no nonsense dive watch extremely well made and with a unique dial and handset. It's the watch for people who want to grow out from the Sub and SMP and get something different.

I'd do it in a heartbeat. I never liked the SMP so it's an easy choice for me. On the other hand, I own the U50. It's a really cool watch in all aspects. It has a tool feel but it's svelte unlike many divers. It has a unique look and feel too. I've really enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

What strap is that?

·

It's a Zuludiver Rubber from WatchGecko.com

·

Do it if you're sure you won't regret it

·

Try uncle straps bracelet. Excellent quality and oem look but with a nice taper

·

Love both, so tough call!

·

Wait until the U50 gets the updated bracelet and on the fly adjustable clasp.

Would love to know when that's happening. I emailed Watchbuys and they didn't give any info.

Same. Sinn just said it will be rolled out across all lines but didn't not say order or ETA which is a bummer.

I saw that you can buy the clasp for $270 I think...pretty steep for a clasp!

I love my U50. I don't mind the clasp.

If you want a true tool watch, go for U50. I have SMP300 seaweed and EZM3.

I kind of feel I need to baby SMP300 as it looks shiny and beautiful although I know it can take some beating.

So SMP300 stays in cities while either EZM3 or Explorer II is with me in the mountains.

Having said that cities may be more hazardous to watches than mountains - steel door knobs vs tree branches, you know😁

Much prefer the Sinn in all respects

·

No way....

I’m a huge fan of both of these watches. But as you said, you’re falling out of love with your #omega SMP and if you think that the #sinn U50 will bring you more joy than your semester, I say go for it.

·

I am on the most own both opinion. 😂
