The signal that you got the signal!

Multi-band 6 is a great feature on a lot of Casio watches keeping them accurate to a fraction of a second. Most models equipped with this feature of atomic timekeeping have some visual cue to let you know the watch has received the signal during the night. Always fun to see these when you pick up the watch. On most models you can also see the date and time of the last reception.

This is my WV-59R-1AJF, as seen on the wrist of Bob Odenkirk in a few episodes of "Better Call Saul". It is a JDM model. The signal strength indicator is the little satellite dish in the lower right. When the signal was received in the full strength, then the indicator shows the whole dish. The less if the dish you see, the weaker the signal reception. I set other watches to either this or my cell phone.

I made a typo that I just corrected. It is a WV-59R-1AJF.

Here's one of the earliest Casios with atomic timekeeping - something I found a few years back. Worked with the first atomic radio band out of Germany in the 90s.

Cool. I never have been able to find a definitive date when it first started.

I wish this feature worked in Australia. I’ve tried but it doesn’t pick up the signal.

I have noticed that when people in Australia post MB6 watches the RCVD marker is never present so I assumed that they were out of range.
