Yeah, my wife calls it a dragon's eye too! The grey strap is made of Kudu, some African antelope - so random! The distressed strap look gives it a more casual look.

Can a 6 inch wrist wear it? Lug overhang is an issue for me on larger watches.
Does sapphire sit above case, or dome quite a bit to help protect from scratches?

6 inch will be tough. I'm 6.6 or 6.7" with quite a flat wrist. It's not reaching the edges, but comes close. It's 48.5mm lug to lug, so shorter than my longest watch at 51mm.
The sapphire is not highly domed, see below.
