Namica Shirahama Neo Tokyo Review
This is my favourite watch so this review is mostly pros but there are a few negatives as well.
I discovered this watch from one of Dave's @justthewatch excellent videos when this microbrand was in its kickstarter phase.
Pros:
I love the design. The purple fume dial really pops in different lighting. I love the hour markers and handset choice. My wife calls this my Squid Game watch. The bezel insert design is clean and concise, I really like the black and white. The bezel action is very firm which I like and each click lines up perfectly.
The generous application of BGW9 Lume glows for hours which is awesome for timing my nightly walks. This watch pops anytime you walk indoors.
This watch wears very well, the lug to lug width is very short and the lugs downturn nicely. The bracelet is comfortable and integrates nicely into the case.
It's powered by a reliable Seiko NH movement which does run a bit fast.
Hand winding and setting the time is very smooth and you get good feedback pulling out the crown to it's different positions.
The black DLC coating is durable and I have not scratched the watch besides from a few tiny scuffs on the clasp.
Milled clasp has enough micro adjusts for a good fitment.
Great customer service. I had a QC issue with my bezel acting crunchy after a few months, and it was skipping a few marks. I emailed Namica and got in touch with the owner Charlie. I sent my watch back and they replaced my watch with a new one.
Negatives:
I did have a QC bezel issue but this was quickly resolved.
The hex link Bracelet links can bunch up when you take the watch off.
The movement does run fast each day.
The design might not be for everyone
The watch is a bit thick on the wrist for my liking at around 14mm. The lug downturn helps a lot

I like affordable & unique watches.
That's a nice-looking watch, I'd wear it. LOVE the purple! Not sure which NH movement it is, but I'm sure a steady hand can regulate it so it runs on time.
