Friday Deliveries are Sweet

My metal utility series CasiOak was just delivered today and my first impressions are very good. I really like this watch. It won't be for everyone but it fixes some issues I had with my other 2100s.

Pros:

  • Very very legible. Hour markers play with the light nicely and the positive display is great. Low light legibility is great.

  • Folded fabric strap is very comfortable & the colour is nice.

  • Very slim watch.

  • Circular brushed metal bezel is quite nice.

  • Soft touch resin lug adapters are quite nice with drilled lugs.

Cons:

  • Mirror finish along sides of case is a bit much. Very very Shiney. Will become covered in scratches (which is my intention)

  • Non-fixed keepers on the strap are very annoying. I might sew them in place eventually.

  • Buckle on the strap isn't that nice.

  • Bezel around crystal is not as raised as it usually is. Crystal might scratch more easily.

I have that model, and have found the shiny case surprisingly resistant to scratches. The keepers are not the best though as you say. Still a nice watch. Enjoy!

Great review, thanks! I was also looking into this but need Bluetooth after having been spoiled by my squares, lol

I just wish it had an automatic backlight feature like my 5610 does. The most useful feature at night.

Great point!! Does the auto backlight on the 5610 stay on all the time? I ask because this feature only stays on for 6 hours on my GBD-200 and GBX-100 to save on battery life for the MIP display...

It lasts the same 1 or 3 seconds that you set for backlight, just activates when you bring your wrist upwards.

It also senses if bright out and only turns on in the dark.

Yes, but what I meant to ask was if the backlight function activates permanently or just for a limited time? I can activate it on my watches and they also display for 3 seconds, but after 6 hours the function automatically turns itself off to save battery life.

It is 3 or 6 seconds only.
