What do you think? New Namica Okami

This is the 2nd offering from Charlie and his Japanese Microbrand Namica Watches.

I have his first dive watch, the Shirahama Neo Tokyo which is one of my favorite watches.

The new Okami carries some familiar design language in a sharp new form factor.

The Okami (wolf) is marketing itself as a cyberpunk/anime/futuristic sports watch, which I think it does very well at.

The angular Titanium case design is pretty interesting and I really like the engravings & design of the display case back.

Image

From reviews I have seen, it wears much like a G-shock square in terms of size and comfort.

Image

It comes in 3 main dial colours for now: Purple fumé, Blackout & Turbo Blue.

The BGW9 Lume looks great on some versions, and the black Lume paint looks pretty week on others.

Image

I think the all black dial version has the same cool design & issues that the all black CasiOak has in terms of poor legibility.

Looks good, can't read it 😂

This watch isn't for me personally, but I do really respect how unique the new design is. It's original and I like that. I just think the design may be a bit too polarizing.

What do you think? Do you like this new watch?

AT $429 they seem like a good deal, at $630 they seem like much less of a deal.

I like the Neo Tokyo, I just wish they made a date model.

·

I love the case and the general idea of the aestestic.

The colors used in the dials seems like a bit of a miss…the ones that do fit the aesthetic are not legible and the ones that are legible don’t really fit the aesthetic.

·

I didn’t give them a thorough look see but I like the look of the new ones. Not sure I’d buy one but they’re interesting.

·

Love the colours. Wow!

·

Will get the blue dial one.

Already got a Neo Tokyo Shirahama.

Love that they went for a unique design and not a dive watch for the second watch.
