I’ve had a few with Hardlex and no issues. Some people call it an automatic disqualifier.

It’ll be fine, get the watch!

My snk809 that I wore as my daily for almost a year has a hardlex crystal and 2 years later the crystal is still pristine. And I have definitely bumped it on all kinds of doorways, my car, etc.. I definitely didn’t baby it lol and it still has no visible scratches on the crystal. That’s my experience.. for what it’s worth🤷🏾‍♂️

Just enjoy the watch on hardlex for a few years and if it ends up being too scratched from wearing after a while just replace the crystal with a sapphire one. No big deal really. Crystals are never eternal, it's a consumable part you replace multiple times throughout the life of a watch, like a strap or a battery.

Nondoubt i just was going to get it as my daily beater and would hate to get a scratch in the glass i dont mind the rest getting banged up.

Thank you

I haven’t babied any of my Seiko watches and all their crystals are fine. I’ve been eyeing that Seiko 5 GMT too, didn’t think too much of it until someone wearing it caught my attention in that exact color.

Never had an issue with Hardlex. That stuff is great.

Scratched right away for me… still don’t regret it, I love the watch and it did not come other way

It doesnt scratch easy?

·

It’s fine. Don’t worry about it unless you’re spelunking.

For me no. U have to be realistic as others are saying- so if u are looking to scratch it up hard, then obviously, u will. Ive had many old Seikos, for many years, and the crystals seem fine to me. So Im okay with Hardlex.

The Seiko 5 GMT taught me I might want sapphire, but I don’t need it. Still box fresh over a year later. Don’t let the Hardlex hold you back.
