Family Watches - Relide & Yema

Hi fellow watchcrunchers.

It’s Sunday so it’s time to be with my family.

As it’s very common I was talking about watches during the meal and my grandparents remembered that they had some old watches from them and also from my grand grand father stored.

Obviously I was really excited because one of the major factors that brought me into collecting watches was the fact that in the future I wanted to have my children and grand children to own some of my watches and every time they wear them they would associate that piece with me.

I know it’s a romantic reason and maybe a little far fetched because I am still very young to start thinking about this, but on the other hand…. The sooner I start the more meaning the watch will have in the future for me and for them :)

Anyway I found some incredible pieces but unfortunately I don’t know a lot about those brands and I really like knowing about the history of watch brands as well as their heritage.

So if any of you could help me and maybe share some interesting facts about them I would really appreciate and I also believe it’s an interesting

Stay safe everyone and as always I hope u have a good time reading this and I hope someone will be able to help me ;)

That square Yema is really cool!  I'm sure you'd be able to find info on that one and the Seiko Presage relatively easily.  The others, I'm not sure; I've never heard of Relide and the Tissot might be hard to differentiate, since it's a pretty conservative style.

Nice assortment you've got, Yema the most well known French watch manufacturer, still in buiseness today mostly makes dive watches and the one you've got its probably late 60s early 70s, most likely a manual (hand winder). Tissot a famous Swiss manufacturer, that lovely seiko presage should have some numbers on the caseback and if you Google them will give you loads of info, though we have plenty of seiko experts on here that will help. Relide now that's a lovely vintage watch, I'm having a guess here but maybe as early as the 50s and most likely a manual, again hoping someone  will give more details. Unfortunately the ladies watches are too blurry to make out. Have a Google and type in the names on the search bar and hopefully get some info. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for that information!!

I didn’t know anything about Yema, despite having seen their brand before on YouTube.

I still need to do some research on the Relide.

I checked and both of them are actually hand wound ;)

But thank u so much, I really enjoyed knowing some of the history about both brands.
