Hey everyone I have been enjoying a lot the posts in the last couple months but I missed writing something ahah.
So yesterday I was calling a friend of mine and since he knows I am into watches asked me to help find something for him.
His criteria was:
-Up to 200€
-Royal Oakish design (no G-Shock GA2100… I tried that one already ahah)
- Quartz or Mechanical doesn’t really matter.
- Preferebly from a well established and known brand (just in case something happens it’s easier to find someone to service)
We were investigating and I reached this glorious Citizen
He actually enjoyed it a lot.
The reference number is AW1750-85L if anyone is interested and it costs about 160€.
I would like to ask, first of all, if anyone has experience with this watch and/or citizen in general to help us make sure this one is a good buy.
The second thing is, just to make sure I didn’t miss any brand from that price range he set, I would like to ask you for some more suggestions just to show him and make sure his choice is definite 😅.
Thanks a lot for everyone’s attention and comments! I hope u all are doing well and have a great Friday 🎊🥳

Citizen are a good brand and the Ecodrive movement in this watch is well thought of. I generally find their watches overly large, and they generally don’t fit me overly well, but I seem to be in a minority there. Citizen also own Miyota and their movements are used everywhere so that won’t be a problem for your friend.
If he can reach a bit more, a quartz PRX would be perfect for him...

35mm quartz PRX would be perfect
It’s not that big of a reach, it’s not that big and will fit many wrists, nice watch)
That citizen is a fantastic choice. Seems like the kind of watch where a normal person would get it and only have one watch. I really like the 2 citizens I have, both are seemingly even more accurate than some of my casios and have some really good builds. I'm thinking of getting a 3rd just to really confirm if citizen watches are really worth it. Send him a g shock too.

Agreed! The citizen is solid, great value, keep it charged and it'll last a lifetime. The quartz PRX would probably be the closest you'll get to a royal oak for around that price though.
Citizen is known and well established Japanese brand. Generally you won’t get any headaches with their watches. And Eco-drive is a perfect choice for a first watch.

The real Casioak

Yeah I also had that in mind but the size of 35 might be too small for him and the budget is a little bit too much… he said 200 max
But thanks for the suggestion anyway ;)

Yeah I also showed him that one but by his own words “That logo just reminds me a lot of a formula 1 logo so it’s a no. Also the dial it’s a bit too busy”
But nice choice and thanks a lot for the help ;)
