A watch to impress only myself

With a 38mm size and slate grey dial, it's a look that doesn't exactly scream from the rooftops. And that's exactly why I love it, the raised numerals and polished bezel are details for the wearer to enjoy. Add to that the handwound movement and limited run of 1500 pieces.

Some specs:

42h power reserve ( ETA 2801-2 the spring is really strong, can feel the ratchet catch the spring when I let go of the crown 🧐)

11mm height

Mineral crystal

50m water resistance

Stealth luxury is the way to go

I like their stuff. Clean and simple.

Sick watch

I actually bought this Hodinkee version on Monday - waiting for shipping. Also, I have their lmm-01 Everest model - absolutely adore it!

(The default strap is pretty sh1tty though - it's 20mm, black, which doesn't fit the 19mm lugwidth and just looks wrong. Not sure, why they chose this, as there is no obvious cost saving).

Lovely looking piece. How's the winding? Does the crown spin back as you wind it?

Well, the winding is totally inline with my other SW200-1 watches - there is very minimal spin back. However, Hodinkee model has ETA movement, so might feel different. I'll get mine hopefully this week, so will see.

So I got the watch. Indeed, the ETA on Hodinkee has noticeable spin back. So I guess, that's just the feature of this movement.

Very very strong spring perhaps

Isn't buying anything should be the case? Enjoy!

You buy something because you like and enjoy it. I never understand buying something for gratification. Just not me.
