G-Shock Mod Help - Newbie Alert!

I really like the thought of modding a 2100 and giving it my own look.

Where's the best place to get good, well priced parts from? While looking online it's not hard to find some parts for them but many seem to be almost as expensive as a 2100 itself!

I am based in the UK if that makes a difference but any advice would be awesome, thank you 🤙

Depends on what you are looking to do.

If you want one of those full metal conversion kits: AliExpress, eBay or SKX Mods. The latter has the best quality but is expensive.

If you want to swap to a different colour strap or resin bezel - eBay

SKX Mods also has good tutorials on YouTube for opening up and putting the watch back together. Helped me out the first time I did it.

Have fun.

Amazing! Thank you for such a great response!

Yes I noticed that SKX seemed very pricey, certainly for full metal conversions. I would like to go for a metal 2100 alongside a resin one which is more likely to get switched up more frequently.

I just want to add my own vibe and colour as that is what surprised me most about G-Shock and not in a good way. They do create a lot of watches but so many are still in blacks, greys etc or they have colourful designs which are just weird. I'm guessing I'm not alone in thinking this given how many people mod them!

It would be cool to go all the way and have a custom watch face and indices too 🤙

I’m also considering this. There’s so many cool mods out there. I’m nervous though. Good luck with your journey!

It all depends on what you are hoping to achieve. I think you are doing more challenging mods than I undertook. I added to my 5000U The Casio Combi Bracelet 2.0 and love it. The Nylon links do not seem to scratch at all and keep with the durability of the watch, I also added Jays and Kays Bull Bars.

The most complex Casio mods I have seen is when people add filters to the LCDs or reverse the polarity - beyond my patience level for certain.

Most of the Shell / Bracelet / Face / Hour / Hand mods appear to only me slightly more complicated and time consuming, but not difficult if you kind find a You Tube walk through.

Its always fun when your vision is manifest.
