Rolex vs Zenith … help!

Dear Crunchers, your input is needed!

I’ve had the zenith Chronomaster sport for a year or so…I loved it to begin with (first real luxury watch) but I stopped wearing it for a while.

Meanwhile, my desire for an explorer 1 has been growing. It would look so good next to my explorer 2 polar and work as the perfect trio with my Breitling pistachio b01.

so I posted my zenith to sell… got a decent offer .. but then I started to wear it again as I was posting it and I kind of found some affection for it. Now I’m torn… do I sell and go with the explorer… or hang onto it?

they’re such odd watches to me matched up against each other. The zenith has flash and interest, the Rolex so classic, classy and timeless.

is it me, or is watch collecting actually quite stressful?

What to do? What do you think crunchers?

Get the Explorer, if you don't gel with it or miss the Zenith it will be easier to sell.

Both lovely, I prefer the Explorer (& I'm not a Rolex fan)

Remove the stress from the equation. Keep the Zenith.

Very true!

So, are you on a strick 3 watch collection rule? Why not have both for a bit and see if you're really going to like the explorer. Your other watches are a lot more complicated and have a lot more going on, I wouldn't be surprised if you decide that the explorer 1 it's a little boring after a while. Luckily, it's the easiest to move.

That said, I'll gladly keep the Chronomaster warm for you.... If you need.

Try on a smaller watch to wear in the 36mm range to see if you like the size. Large auto's are heavy and your body might be telling you its uncomfortable. The Explorer 1 is a smaller watch.

I think the Explorer will prove to be boring compared to your other watches. A friend in retail with deep connections for Rolex assisted in sourcing an Explorer for me earlier this year, but for me personally it is classic or just plain. I do own own a lot of watches so it is not an issue but my wife and daughters wear the watch more than I do. Keep the Zenith.

I will keep Zenith chronomaster sport and buy ex1 later when save enough money 😌

·

Interesting that you began to wear the Zenith once you posted it for sale. The Explorer would go well with your collection but there is something interesting about a collection including varied brands.

·

I like to stick to one watch per brand. Do you really want the Exp 1 and the Exp 2?

Get Duro. Problem solved.

This is true…. Do like the 3 watch collection things… but it’s not realistic, let’s be honest 😂

I’d go 40mm or the 39mm…. 36mm feels like a

Tiny button to me.

Get the Rolex and don’t look back. You won’t regret the choice.

I’m leaning this way…. Waiting for an offer on the zenith

I sort of do …. They’re so different and the ruggedness compensates for my soft office boy hands! 😂
