Dissapointing Day

Went shopping today and visited a few jewellers with a few watches in mind. Most of my watches have bezels and I was looking for a GADA that wasn't going to break the bank but gave me something different from my diver/sports collection.

Watches in mind were: Longine Conquest VHP, Tissot PRX in blue, and aTissot Gentleman.  I am sight impaired and most of my watches are on the larger side, ar coated and high contrast dials. Sadly all of them, and REALLY annoyingly,  the PRX, were too reflective and I couldn't see them. The 40mm PRX fitted perfectly, I loved it but the case just bounced too much light back at me. So, I've come back empty  handed and gutted. 😩

In fairness, they have the place lit up like an studio, right? The lighting is meant to cause reflections.

True, the place was in a shopping mall so no opportunity to see it in normal light. I think I need another bite of the cherry.

For around the price of a VHP you can get a Damasko DS30 on a strap.

It's a bit "sporty", but also very subdued if you stick with the white hands/date.

Did you try the Tissot Visodate or Gent XL? Certina has some legible dress watches (DS-2?). The highly readable Mondaine probably isn't dressy enough 😕

Cheers for the suggestions,  I'm not familiar with some of those, I'll check them out.

Took a look at this online after your reply, very Zinn like indeed.

I have the white dial version of the Archimede Klassik 200 which is very legible. They also have a black face version, which could work for you. 200m water resistance and hardened steel case by Ickler.

Very attractive indeed, thank you!
