Seiko Falls apart in my hand

I pulled out my new Seiko Prospex Save the Oceans from my watch box and the band separated at a link while holding it. I had worn it for about a week before switching out to another watch.

I did not like the pin & collar system on the bracelet when I sized it. I watched some youtube videos to help me do replace the pins correctly. I guess I did not.

How can I be more confident that the bracelet links are secure? tips or tricks besides taking it to a Seiko AD.

Thanks!

Oh my gosh. That’s crazy. I hope you get it fixed!

Yeah I hate the pin and collar!! One thing I ck if it feels really loose that’s a good indication the collar is not in place or i forgot to put it in. ..

It sounds like you missed putting one collar in place and the pin slid out. The collars are usually placed inside one end of the midlink and the pin is pushed in through the opposite side, there will be arrows indicating. Fairly easy process but sometimes the collar can be a pain to work with because of the tiny size.

If you have lost the collar then you can source one from a watch shop or online to do yourself or just take it to your AD, they would fix it for free most of the time if you have recently purchased the watch from them.

Or Seiko could start making good bracelets…

Thanks for your suggestions. I had a spare collar and pin. I went through the entire bracelet and i think they are all secure now! I used a ballpoint pen on the side of the collar and a spring tool to puch the pins.

Thanks for you response! This is my first pin and collar bracelet, so i am now aware that i need to double check all pins.
