Hi chrunchers,
I bought my first automatic watch with 23 in Australia second hand. Just because I liked it plus i want a automatic watch to remember Australia …and it was affordable for me.
So more or less since then I trie to find out more about that Watch brand and the history.
All I know so far/ I picked up one day:
Somewhere I get the info that it was a watch for Australian officers.
The brand was kind of famous in Australia and well respected.
I am not sure about well known and well respected. Because I just found once another picture online and in Australia nobody could tell more. Even the elder people. Also in Canberra at the military Museum I couldn’t find watch in the display to show case.
So now I like to ask you guys to open your dusty books and spread your extraordinary watch knowledge about vintage watches.
And for sure few more pictures to enjoy and make it a bit easier to research 🧐
Please let the magic 🪄 happen 🇦🇺😉

I love the history of a watch.
I am very excited if some can tell me/ us more :)
This was a brand of Sauter Freres & Cie who started making women's watches in Biel around the turn of the last century. They later moved into men's watches. Many of these were branded as Pierpont in the UK and Geneve in the US. The name only died off in 2006, although the company did not survive Quartz. That may be a Felsa movement but for a real movement ID you need to ask the smart guys.

I don't "know" anything. I just have internet skills. Start with Mikrolisk. Research the name of the parent company. Sort through comments on WUS posts. Stitch it together. Here is Porthole's Vintage Guide with some links.

Anyway :) … thanks for sharing what you found and for the guide.
Very impressive…wish I have more experience in the vintage space!
