One watch collection competition. All under 400. Episode 12. Sweet 16. 7/8.

Slowly, but surely we are coming to the final of the sweet 16. Duel number 7 (of 8) is just ahead of us. I would not lie saying it is going to be a battle of commonly beloved brands. Both from Japan, both quite affordable. Yes, you’ve guessed, on of them is Seiko. And the other is Casio. In the red corner – field watch from Seiko, experienced veteran of WildCard stage – Seiko 5 SRPG27. 1. Seiko 5 SRPG27 Sizes: 40mm case diameter, 48mm lug-to-lug, 13.5mm thick, 20mm lug width. Movement: Seiko 4R36 (automatic, hacks, handwinds, day-date, 21600 bph, bidirectional rotor, 41 hour power reserve). Materials: 316L stainless steel brushed and polished Crystal: Hardlex mineral Lume: Lumibrite Band: Metal 5-link bracelet. Solid links, hollow endlinks, pressed clasp, 2 micro adjustments WR: 100m Price: 220$ What to love: Great price, Seiko brand, day-date complication, strap monster. Grain of salt: Mediocre bracelet and clasp, hardlex crystal, 13,5mm thick. The opponent changes the meaning of the word value. Equally monstrous blue – Casio Oceanus T200. Cheaper than a Moonswatch 2. Casio Oceanus T200 Sizes: 41 mm case diameter, 48mm lug-to-lug, 10,7mm thick, 20mm lug width. Movement: Casio Module #5596 (quartz, solar, power reserve 5 months and 29 months with power save function, date, multi-band 6 sync, phone sync with an app, perpetual calendar). Materials: 316L steel polished, brushed and satined. Crystal: Flat sapphire crystal with double AR coating (of course with a blue tint) Lume: Neobright lume Band: Metal oyster style bracelet. Solid links, solid end-links, milled double pusher clasp, 2 micro adjustment holes. WR: 100m Price: 320$ What to love: Solar movement, set and forget watch, great finishing, solid lume, great legibility thanks to double AR coating. Grain of salt: Might be too big for some wrists (lots of watch presence), some people note jangly bracelet and too little micro adjustment. I know which one to choose. Do you? Then vote!

Oh that's a tough one, I'm not the biggest fan of both. If only the Oceanus was smaller and less blue... and had a different date window... 🥺

as a lover of the automatic watch and proud sprg owner i would choose seiko over casio

I voted for Casio anyway. Lug-to-lug seems bearable and overall specs are very close to perfect GADA watch for a non watch collector

The Oecanus line is really good value for money, i like Seiko but i would pick the T200 over a Seiko 5 any day.

·

I have owned the Seiko and now have the Oceanus,I must say the Oceanus is superior with fit finish, solar non scratch crystal always perfect time, love the watch.

·

you must see the Oceanus in real life, different light settings before you judge,it’s a stunner

·

I will choose the Oceanus T200, for the function, solar power, and blue tooth sync.

I haven't seen it  in real live, but even videos give this watch a very fine view.
