Quick Box & Papers Question

I'm aware having the box and papers affects the overall desirability, price, legitimacy, future sale potential of a pre-owned watch. That being said, my question is about service. I read online that Rolex will still service a watch without box & papers,  providing the reference number is not on their "stolen list."

I'm wondering if other brands have the same policy, specifically JLC?  Looking at a few Reverso's without B&P. The prices are very enticing, but I fear I'll be taking a risk with servicing down the road.

Any insights or personal experience? Thanks!

Not that I’m aware of

Wait, has anyone ever used the silly warranty card or whatever? I thought those were purely ornamental.

I fail to believe that anyone requires the original box for servicing. I think they just want things being sent in to be packed better than just loosely tossed into a jiffy bag.

Authenticity is probably your biggest risk when buying a popular brand and model used. Make sure you do your homework. Boxes and papers can be forged or modified as easily as a watch, the watch matters most however.

I have box and papers on both of my luxury watches, but I always thought, you pay more for B/P but you don't wear them. Mine sit in a cabinet...so I mean on resale they are worth money (especially a luxury watch) but most non luxury it's truly not needed.
