NWA: Serica 6190

Hello and happy spring everyone!

Yesterday I received in the mail my Serica 6190, California dial. This was very highly anticipated for me since I had ordered it around the end of February and just got it (it was a good practice of delayed gratification lol). I had been in the market for a tough, do it all field watch ~$1-2k and I was having a tough time finding something that I was actually intrigued by. I had looked at the Hamilton Khakis, a couple CWs, formex, etc but none of them stood out to me like the design language at Serica. After much consideration and research, I landed on the 6190.

To start off I just have to say, seeing and handling this watch in person blows any photos out of the water. The deep black lacquered dial was masterfully done with great lume and perfectly sized sword and arrow hand set. The finishing on this piece is excellent and far surpassed my expectations. With the vertically brushes case sides, brushed bezel, polished bevel and polished twisted lugs, there is clear attention to detail and refinement. The proportions are absolutely perfect for me. Did not know how much I'd love a watch this small until I put it on. And to wrap it all up, the Bonklip bracelet is the unsung hero as it is one of the comfiest bracelets I've ever worn on a watch and very well made. I also purchased the guilloche end links which are pictured but it also looks great without them. This watch is a true strap monster.

All that being said, I'm very impressed by this watch and would be hard pressed to find anything under $1500 that beats it. COSC certification was a great touch by Serica. I forgot to mention... screw down crown with 200M WR??? Are you kidding me! This is the perfect watch for me.

P.S. if anyone is weary of Serica as a brand or "movement issues" I can assure you they have corrected said issue and their customer service was excellent and very helpful. I recommend

Awesome write-up and photography! Having handlers this piece in the metal, I’m a massive fan. It’s clear that they made an insanely well-made piece. From case design, finishing, crown action and size, dial design, lume, and robustness; they killed it. I definitely want the commando version

Thank you sir! This small brand punches way way above it's price and also has several advantages over its competitors IMO. Going to be fun to see what they do going forward

Great field watch, I enjoyed the 4512

I wish they didn't get rid of the drilled lugs from the 4512! Would have been very helpful. I've had this watch for a little over a day and I can't stop switching straps haha

Agree with the drilled lugs!
