LJP G100

From The Naked Watchmaker, does this note mean the La Joux Perret LJP-G100 movement cannot be repaired or adjusted?

No. The other pin adjusts the effective length and you can fine tune via the eccentric screw.

I don't think that's what it means. I'm not a watch maker, but I've been watching all kinds of videos about it.

Every one I've seen shows them removing or replacing the balance wheel with the balance spring attached.

And, I own a watch with a Miyota 9 series movement and it was adjusted to be more accurate by my LWM. I bring this up because the LJP G100 is based on the Miyota 9 series. Citizen owns both companies. LJP had a lot to do with Citizen's new Caliber 0200.

As @Pallet_Fork points out, this refers to one end of the balance spring. Regulation is typically moving the other end to make minute adjustments to its effective length and therefore its period of oscillation.

I didn’t realize Citizen owned LJP! I had heard there was a relationship to the Miyota but hadn’t followed that thread yet

Well, as I say: You're never too old to learn something new.

They own a few high end Swiss companies.

💯🎯

I've seen someone work on the balance spring but it wasn't pretty, and he was a master at his craft. He had a special tool for cutting it. Much easier to replace the whole shebang.
