Stowa Mini-Park

One of my favorite vintage pick-ups that always puts a smile on my face when I wear it. It is a Stowa with an automatic movement and a complication of its namesake. The center of the dial has a curved bar that shows time elapsed (using dark/light color from 1hr) and at 12 o'clock position there is a numerical wheel that reads the minutes elapsed. The complication is meant to help you not get parking tickets when in the city using parking meters. It is activated via a pusher at the 2 o'clock position. Pie-pan dial, gorgeous design, and quirky complication make this piece one of my favorites in my collection.

Wow, that is not what comes to mind when I think of Stowa, but it’s very cool.

I am embarrassed to say that Stowa was not on my radar of brands to pick up, but when I saw this I had to get it. Afterwards, I looked at what else the brand has on offer and it is much different! I saw a lot of aviation, bauhaus, but not much of these quirky pieces.
