Squale Watches

Sunday we had the opportunity to try Squale watches for the first time (full lume in the photo)
The new Cosc 1521 impressed me a lot, have you ever tried it? What do you think of this historic brand?

That goes back to the early days of Squale when they were a major supplier of cases to other manufacturers.  Often they had the manufacturer at 12 and Squale at 6.  Sometimes the Squale branding was on the caseback instead of the dial.  Jason Heaton did a good write up on Squale for Hodinkee back in 2014.

Have only owned one and was unimpressed at the price point. Flipped it.

Finishing was no better than anything SanMartin offers but for 3-4x the price.

I love mine.

It's as solid as a brick. I like the history and heritage of the brand also, though they do sometimes make some dubious design choices...

I have a non COSC 1521 in blue that’s about 5 years. Never been served and is +1 a day. Not sure if mine is exceptionally regulated but I wouldn’t pay extra for the COSC model and would rather pay to service an ETA 2824-2 than a cosc version.
