Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

I remember Saturdays with my dad when I was about five years old. I remember jumping into bed with him at 11 in the morning. Trying to get him to wake up. Some days, on the good days, he would’ve forgotten to take off his watch the night before, and would still have it on in the morning. I’d hold his arm up in the air just staring at his 1962 Omega Constellation. Moving his wrist back-and-forth, I’d wait for a sliver of light coming through the closed shades to dance across that Silver dial. That’s when it began for me… Like so many other boys… The tender moments with my father.

Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?

1970s Timex Mickey Mouse watch

Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?

The all-stainless 1962 Omega Constellation Pie Pan (with the stainless beads-of-rice bracelet) was a gift from my grand father to my father for his wedding. My father gifted me this watch in 2022 and it’s the same watch that got me into watches in the first place.

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

Watch collecting is a marathon, not a sprint. you’ll be tempted to buy every watch that you can afford but I guarantee you it’s far sweeter when you take your time, and see what is a true love and what is just a passing crush.

Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?

A. Lange & Söhne (always), Grand Seiko, Arnold & Son, Cartier

Q: What is your grail watch and why?

The ALS Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar in 18k pink gold with gray dial.
