I’m old enough that I pretty much always wore watches, but I didn’t get into collecting until I started caring about the way I looked. With that came an appreciation for different looks, and the “need” for more than one watch.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
I don’t remember but looking at photos it seems I was around 9 years old and it was a basic Casio.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Take your time in collecting. It can be very tempting to collect everything you’re interested in and like. But your first few years are likely to be years of changing tastes (something that never goes away completely but for many will slow down) so taking your time, playing with many watches, learning and browsing on the internet and in real life, and generally getting more of a sense of what you personally value in a watch will all make your collection evolve into something you can be really happy with.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
My favorite watch brands are Rolex, NOMOS, and Kurono Tokyo.
