Can an everyday watch be purple?

Purple watches for the everyday? Yay or nay?

I tried it with the Seiko SRPJ65, which came out in this year's Rowing Blazers collaboration. It was really hard to decide whether it worked as an everyday or it didn't. I decided there was enough here for it to be the first post on my new blog about watches. I detailed the whole experience here: https://toompieces.com/2023/11/05/can-an-everyday-watch-be-purple/

Do you have any purple watches? When do you wear them? Have you ever considered them as "everyday" pieces? Let me know — I'm interested in other perspectives on this. People seem to think purple is on the rise.

I think this Seiko might have worked for me if I had got it at a lower price. I'm not sure I like the purple as much as the Rowing Blazers $$ markup, and an everyday watch probably shouldn't be a reminder of hype traps and overpaying. That, and this watch just doesn't offer much else. I'd probably rather have the purple Erebus Origin from JustOneMoreWatch than this.

My opinion is’yes’. I think purple would be ok for a daily.

Don’t have one yet but as it’s my favorite color it’s only a matter of time.

The most I have is a purple leather strap lol

I say yes. I frequently wear mine with a black t-shirt or long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and a pair of Crayola Vans, but I have also worn it with a brown t-shirt, pair of tan cargo shorts, and black tennies.

I used to work with a woman who was a head of fashion, and she sometimes looked like she dove into a pile of multi-colored clothes left over after a tornado took out a clothing factory. She would come up with the most awful ensembles (to my eyes), and that was considered “fashionable”. And she wasn’t the only woman to do this. I figure if women can do this, why can’t men?

I do tend to stick with dark colored bases and add “pops” of color, though.

Thank you. I was just asking. I guess she'll have to stay out of the wading pool then.

Can an everyday watch be purple? This is WatchCrunch. So your everyday watch can indeed be purple. And your non-everyday watch can be purple. And you can be purple. Or any other color. Or colors not even in the visible spectrum of light. You can paint purple stripes on your shirt. You can paint purple stripes on your skirt. Purple haze can affect your brain. 'Scuse me while I kiss this guy. 'Scuse me while I kiss this girl, while wearing my purple Seiko. And it's not easy being green, but it's easier than coughing up a couple thousand for the Oris Kermit watch. And we don't need no stinkin' rules, and we don't need no stinkin' badges, except on our profile pages. We say what we want, when we want, as often as we want. We make no apologies and take no prisoners. And finally, we make no guarantees, except all the ones that I just wrote. Do you hear? Do you understand? This is W-A-A-A-T-C-H C-R-U-U-U-N-C-H-H-H !!!!!!!!

I just read about the woman who had to dive into the pile of clothes when the tornado was taking out the clothing factory. That's terrible. I was really sad to hear it. I hope her watch was okay.
