Simple Dress Watch Options

I’m contemplating a simple dress watch that is lightweight and slips under the sleeves easily…I’ve wanted a Nomos or a Cartier watch for a while now and just wanted to see what people’s opinion on the options were ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Nomos, I like their Ludwig line, looking at either the enamel white dial in 38mm or the regular galvanized silver dial, open casebacks

Cartier, I see myself eventually work my way towards a Santos anyway, but a Tank looks so comfy; thinking the regular or black dial varient. Or maybe save up for a Tank Americaine

Or go vintage route and save up a bit more for an IWC Novecento Ref. 2550, or some other vintage piece

For other suggestions, just post a comment. Doesn’t have to be rectangular either; realizing a lot of the options were rectangular here.

Budget probably max $5K, ideally around $2K-$3K, unless I just decide to save up and go beyond $5K lol

Can’t go wrong with either of these; all great looking and easy to wear dress watches! Purely aesthetically I’d pick the IWC.

For a lot less money (around $350 at online auction) you could also consider a simple vintage threehander:

Or an even older rectangular one:

Or go gold (around 3,5 - 4K):

Lots of choice, let us know what you pick!

Damn a gold Vacheron under $4K is CRAZY haha; honestly though separately from this next watch, I see myself eventually picking up a vintage gold piece for sure. I’ve been looking at Omegas, Longines, UG’s, Holy Trinities, IWC, Zenith, Rolex Cellinis, Breguets, the works lol

Solid wish list you’ve got there! Good to note btw I got all three pieces through bidding in an online auction; prices will be higher if you buy directly from a dealer. Plus none of the pieces had papers or boxes…and I immediately replaced the strap on the Junghans and the VC (both fixed lugs!)

I would pick the Tank. But i would prefer the small version :-)

Yeah if it’s for myself, boxes and papers never meant much as long as I can verify it’s authentic 😌I’ve definitely got to check out an auction sometime then haha

Yeah I’ll prob end up going and trying these on for myself before actually determining the size for purchase haha; but I figured with my wrist size ranging from 7”-7.25”, the large might be the right size
