I started, like many, with Casio’s as a kid. Then I got a Seiko SNZG, then an SKX. Then I started taking them apart and fixing them (thanks, YouTube). Then I found my grandpa’s old 1960’s Seamaster and had that restored. And then it all fell apart…or got exciting…depending on who you ask. I’ve since collected modern Rolex and Omega, Sinn, Tudor, higher end Seiko’s. And I dabble with micro brands like Monta and Zelos. But the first love will always be Seiko. A part of me thinks I could have kept just the SKX009 and been happy forever. But it’s too late for those thoughts…

Casio and Seiko, of course

I think it was a Casio F91
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
My grandfather’s gold-capped 1960’s Seamaster. It’s seen a lot, and will see plenty more. My SKX and Rolex 214270 have seen the most travel.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Stop. Right now. Get out while you can
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
I’ve been intrigued by neo-vintage Rolex (1980s, 1990s), and modern Glashutte.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
There’s no such thing. I won’t pretend there’s some watch out there that would end the quest
