Went to Seiko’s birthplace yesterday. Increased my appreciation for the brand, and watches in general.

Been living in Japan for awhile but hadn’t had the chance to visit the Seiko buildings in Ginza, Tokyo until yesterday.

Wearing my King Seiko reissue watch, I first visited the Seiko museum near the Hattori Clocktower. The exhibit was smaller than I expected but it was easy to navigate. I learned a lot about the founder’s life and his accomplishment.

Nearby was the Seiko and Grand Seiko boutique store where, I think, but I could be wrong, most of their models are available to view and try. Clerks were very helpful and actually know their products.

I got to try my grail which was the SBGM247 GMT watch with the green dial. Trying it on reinforced my desire to but the watch someday as I got to see how it fit me and see the fine details of the watch in person, which no image on Google can ever simulate.

If you’re a Seiko fan, I think you owe it to yourself to visit the museum and stores nearby at least once in your life. Besides, Japan’s a beautiful country worth visiting anyway.
