Baltic watches?

Any experience with Baltic? I am looking for a cool beach watch and was thinking Seiko but Baltic watches have a titanium watch (as recommend from a WCruncher in my last post) and a pretty nice white dial aquascaphe.

The look lovely, well, one of them does, but the quality is hit & miss. The Chinese movements are quite noisy too.

As with most things you get what you pay for, but in my opinion if you don’t have the budget for one of the usual suspects check out something from Seiko, their presage range has plenty of niche dials

I own a Baltic Aquascaphe, but not the titanium one. Miyota is a owned by Citizen Watch and are Japanese, not Chinese. And the rotor isn’t that noisy. It’s no Rolex, but it’s a fine movement for the price.

I have hands-on, long-term experience with the Baltic Aquascaphy (in steel), and I’m a fan. I got the inky blue dial, but that white dial looks stunning in the pictures. Mine is a total strap monster, and the quick-release bracelet makes switching easy.

You might also check out the Lorier Neptune. It’s 1mm smaller and the bracelet is tapered, so it definitively wears smaller. It kind of gives me vintage-Rolex vibes, without being a direct homage. Both the Baltic and Lorier have Miyota movements, which I promise you are fine (despite what the previous commenter said).

Here’s the Baltic on a couple different straps…

And here’s the Lorier…

Good luck, friend.

Yes titanium is fantastic. I'm pretty much only considering titanium for my next watch. Or a g shock if it's comfy. Not all of them are.

The Baltic look really nice but I've not used them. But I have FKM rubber that looks identical and it's fantastic. Much better than silicone which is actually quite awful.

The back of the watch makes a huge difference to comfort too. I hate bulging backs as it creates a pressure spot and also makes the watch wobble more.

And the overall weight too. Automatic is gonna be noticably heavier than quartz.

This one is 28 grams. Titanium. Sapphire. Solar. Radio. Etc. 160 bucks or so. Only 50m water resistance but I think Casio say it's fine for swimming. I'll double check.

Or these look awesome and I think are actually made for diving. At least the first one. And that one is titanium too.

Or another budget titanium is these. 170 and 270 dollars and there's a few nice colors. And citizen is pretty much the only watch brand that in my opinion is as reliable as Casio.

Or a good G Shock is perfect for the beach or sports. The gbd200 is by far the most comfy with the softest strap that I've seen on a g shock. And has an awesome screen and features too. Plus great colors.

This watch has been on my radar a while now, it's such a gorgeous watch.
