I was thrilled to find Antigua Relojeria just a few blocks our hotel on our 30th anniversary trip to my wife's former residence, Madrid. Great! I can check out some antigue watches while she enjoys many other shops near Plaza Mayor.
Unfortunately, the only antique is the store itself, which first opened in 1880 something. It's a lovely, small shop that carries several low-priced to low-end luxury brands. There was a limited edition G-Shock I hadn't seen before, and the requisite Longines, Rado, Tag Heuer and Tissot that seem common here. And a few brands I hadn't seen before, like Viceroy.
An even smaller place next to the hotel showed about 10 definitely vintage watches, but nothing appealing.
We'll see what the rest of this week finds in Madrid, Barcelona and Paris. Any recommendations for vintage watches from locals or those who visited recently?
