G-SHOCK: and now I know why my inner child loves them
I've had an itch to get a G-shock for sometime now. When I was a child I remember getting a baby-G and a g-shock as presents. I guess it was my first intro to the world of watches. I distinctively recall pressing on the light button throughout the night and just in awe; or cycling through modes for the "beep" sound; or staring at the circular section of blocks waiting for it to fill up.
So at windupwatchfairNYC2023, passed by the G-Shock booth and eventually tried a few on. I'm definitely a fan of the casioak design. I knew I didn't want the bells and whistles of a Bluetooth model. Eventually stumbled upon this model: GAE2100WE-3A. I am a sucker for camou, on top of that it came with extra bezels and straps? No problem take my money.
Anyway I'm back to turning on the light randomly (3 second shut off) and flipping through the timezones. So thanks G-SHOCK for bringing back a smile and giving joy to my inner child. Obviously now I want more bezels and straps...happy new year everyone!
Recently picked up the watch hobby or should I say addiction during the lock-down. Excited to see where this journey takes me.

The Casioak is a great watch as is but it lends itself well to easy modifications.
