Your Mail-in Catalogs?

I have not seen a thread of this yet, so I thought I would bring it up.
Here is my collection that includes over 20 watch catalogs. Since I am a high schooler with no money, the catalogs that are offered by brands are about the closest I can get to having a premium tangible watch of luxury in my hands.

The first image is my entire collection, and then the next pictures are some of my favorites that I have received. (No particular order)

It has been a long journey to get to this many, as I have had to email and beg for some of them, such as JLC, and had to fill out online forms for others. I am eager to see if anyone else collects these, I would love to see them.

Whenever I have an opportunity to grab a copy of a paper catalog, I'll take it.  I've got about a dozen or so that I've picked up over 3 years. They can be great reference material, and they can also be fun to flip through.

Agreed, I love to flip through them all the time.

I love the commitment! If money was no object, what's your grail watch?

·

Wow that's superbe 😍

I've always wanted to have a collection of quality watch books (for free).

So if you email the brand, they send it to you ? Can you get them in stores ?

Thanks! I am a big fan of the classic speedmasters, so its hard to choose only one. My ultimate goal is to have one by the time im retired.

I especially like the tintin and the ed white, and you cant beat the original 1957 edition 👍

Fantastic choices. I'm with you, the Tintin is awesome (plus, I read all the comics when I was little), the Ed White is an absolute classic, and the original 1957 is not only historically important but a great-looking watch. Good luck on getting the Speedmaster of your dreams, one day!

Yes some websites will have an online order form and some you will have to email.
This list really helped me find some to order from, but most of the links either dont work or the companies do not offer catalogs anymore. The magazines in the last picture are ones i had to get throu my omega AD, so yeah, some you might have to travel for. 👍

nice collection! I have most of the ones you've shown. Unlucky not to get JLC as they ran out by the time I visited their boutique. Some that you don't have yet include Breitling, IWC, Longines, and Rolex

Nice! I had to email JLC for their 2019-2020 one because apparently they wont make new ones in fear of the environment. I will try those brands though, those would be awesome to add to the collection 🤝

The easy thing for me is :

  1. I'm french so I can write in french
  2. I live in Lyon (which is 1h30 away from Geneva)

i recently did spring cleaning and got really tired decluttering all these catalogues. i know the joy of holding it and admiring them (yup, they can be accessible in my toilet!), but after decluttering I told myself I can't collect these ever again. And frankly, watching youtube videos of watches instead to me now is more fun and engaging.

That’s understandable, i also love watching watch channels on YouTube.

At the moment the catalogs fit nicely on my bookshelf, hopefully it wont get too out of hand 😁
