I never wore watches except an Apple Watch. When I got rid of it, I exchanged it for 2 watches (Fossil Nate & Tommy Hilfiger Automatic). The automatic TH watch got me interested and I bought my first *real* watch, a Tissot PRS 516. At that time I was a student and didnโt have much money. When I got my first job after graduating, I had the funds to buy watches and fuel this hobby.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
The first one I consider worth mentioning was the Tissot PRS 516
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
Not yet, but thereโs an IWC pocket watch in the family with a long history involving WW1 that will eventually be mine.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
In-between-watches donโt fill the void. If you want a Submariner, donโt waste your money on a Tudor Black Bay. If you want a Speedy, donโt waste your money on a Bulova Lunar Pilot. Youโll regret it almost always. This might sound snobby, but itโs an honest advice I wish I knew earlier.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
IWC!
Very very cool designs, very very nice materials.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Thereโs no such thing as grail watch for me. Thereโs no watch out there in any price class that I wouldnโt eventually trade for another watch. Itโs the journey of collecting and having seen every watch that tickles me.
